Pokémon truly could get anywhere. Alba's garden was almost clinical in its meticulousness; not a heavily-fortified fortress, but more like a slice of the world he took pains to keep separate from all else. Still, creatures would slip in whenever they could, looking to fill their bellies.[break][break]

He wouldn't take offence. If anything, it was a glowing review of his own budding horticultural skills.[break][break]

Reaping What You Sow

Is this a glimpse into an easier life? A simpler life, away from crime and terrorism and guns in your face? A carefree life, where the apocalypse is some abstract you've barely heard of, a malevolence to be dealt with by those stronger and more heroic than you?[break][break]

Would you be happier here? Happier letting go of all of that, just becoming a nameless face in the crowd, with a life that never amounts to anything? Maybe you would. It would be easier to wake up to this life, than it is to wake up to the life you have now. But you'd always wonder, wouldn't you? You'd always turn your eyes skyward, and think about where you could be.[break][break]

The berries pop off their bush with some gentle encouragement. Better to leave this life as a fleeting thing. There's a reason the eye of the storm is only the eye.

As always, Appletun tends to the berry trees. The sweet scent of nature fills the garden air; the fruit is always vibrant, thanks to the Pokémon's Ability. Later on, he'll head down to the market to sell them off.

It's fortunate that his berry garden has been relatively untouched by the ravages of war. Recovering from his injuries as he is, his Appletun does the majority of the work of reaping the harvest, while its trainer watches on. It's a momentary peace; there is much and more for him to do, for both Team Rocket and for himself. For now though, Alba lies back, and lets the dull ache wash over him, like the waters that had nearly swallowed Sootopolis.
